Services - Volunteer 

VolunteeringThis project was set up with the dual objective of assisting Dostiyo in its day-to-day administrative tasks and enabling volunteers to enhance personal development.

The project encourages Asian women from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds with physical disabilities to access and develop services that are particularly sensitive to their needs.

Main tasks: Administrative

Answer the telephone, respond to fax, take messages and sign-post as appropriate.
Update manual and computer systems.
Filing and organising.
Photocopying.
                                 
Including: Computers    

Produce word-processed documents – minutes, letters, report etc.
Design signs, posters, leaflets, forms, invitations etc.

Other tasks:

Planning, designing and setting-up a project.
Meet and greet all visitors to the center and inform staff of their arrival.
Ensure all people who enter and leave the building sign in and out in the Visitors’ Book in keeping with Health & Safety requirements.
Make appointments, arrange meetings for clients to see Dostiyo staff or other service providers
Support workers and new projects as they are developed eg. Luncheon Club, Day Care Services, Arts & Crafts, trips, computer classes, Elderly Classes, activity groups etc.
